Int'l Women's Day turned Empowerment Day in Abia State

30 Women from osisioma ngwa local government area has been empowered by the Wife of the Governor of Abia State Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu.
Addressing the beneficiaries at osisioma LGA headquarters,the wife of the Governor of Abia State Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu said that empowering the women was her way of contributing to the socio and political development of the State and families.
She described women as managers who are important in all spheres of life and said that the Governor Dr Okezie Ikpeazu is poised to better their lives.
The First lady charged the beneficiaries to make proper use of the items given to them in order to liberate their families from poverty and hunger.
In a speech, the Chairman of osisoma LGA chief Benjamin Ositadinma mgbeahuru thanked the Wife of the Governor for her benevolence and assured that the people of osisoma are solidly behind them and called for prayers to sustain the present administration.
Highlight of the occasion was the handing over of the empowerment materials to the beneficiaries which include;sewing machines,grinding machines,catering equipment,wrappers amongst other items.
The wife of the Deputy Governor lady Vivienne Ude Okochukwu and other top Government functionaries graced the occasion.
