2018 World Kidney Day

The wife of the Governor of Abia State Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu has charged all Abiàns to adopt good lifestyle that will help reduce the prevalence of Kidney disease.
Mrs Ikpeazu gave this charge at Abia Diagnostic Centre Umuahia during the 2018 World Kidney Day Celebration with the theme"Kidneys and Women's Health"
She stated that the State government is committed to providing quality Healthcare for all Abians.
The First lady urged the the Kidney patients to adhere strictly to their medications and instructions from their Doctors.
Mrs Ikpeazu used the opportunity to inspect the Dialysis Centre of the Abia Diagnostic Centre Umuahia and in her usual manner and in the spirit of the International Women's Day Celebration paid the medical bills of 24 Dialysis patients and 4 other patients from FMC,Living Word Hospital Aba and Beatitudes Hospital,Umuahia.
The Chief Medical Director of Abia Diagnostic Centre, Dr Uwadinachi Iweha,said that kidney disease is no respecter of person or age and called on all to live healthy.
The Commissioner for Health Dr John Ahukanna who was represented by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health,Mr Nkwachukwu Agomuo,said that the Governor has always supported Kidney patients by paying their bills and disclosed that the ministry of Health has continued to partner with world health bodies to provide healthcare to the nook and crannies of the State.
Responding on behalf of the Kidney patients, Mrs Roseline Kalu, thanked the Wife of the Governor for settling their bills and prayed that God will continue to preserve her.
